Barrington Courier Review - April 6, 1944
Mrs. Johanna Pahlke, 79, of Barrington, IL at Sherman Hospital in Elgin last Friday. Services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 from the William Foelschow funeral home in Barrington to St. Paul's Church at 2:30 with burial in Evergreen cemetery. The Rev. George P. Ellerbrake officiated.
Mrs. Pahlke was born April 15, 1864. Her husband Gustav preceded her in death in 1930. The couple had farmed near Barrington until about 1916, then moved into town.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. E. Nordmeyer of Barrington, a son William and a step-son Alvin Pahlke of Barrington; also 6 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Pauline Friedland of Elgin who died Wednesday of last week and was buried Saturday.
Pallbearers at the services were Edward Wesolowski, Emil Miller, William Miller, Frank Martens, William Nightengale, and Ray Jurs.
